The Forgotten Voices project aims to record and preserve the local language and dialect of the Stewartry area. It is hoped that these interviews will peresrve the lexicon, phrasing and most importantly, the sound of Stewartry Scots.
Aside from the linguistic interest of these interviews, it is hoped that these remininscences will also provide a valuable commentary on the local social history of the area.
